102 Miles of Cotswolds Fun in 7 Days!
Three generations of women will lead a 102 mile walk starting on Saturday, along the Cotswolds Way in support of Asthma UK’s Annual Fundraising Week. Lucy and Colleen Gawthorpe and Amelie Marples (aged 2) will don their walking boots and begin a trek with other members of the family and the local cricket team…. all the way from Chipping Camden to Bath. 102 Miles of Fun! Lucy, from Gedling in Nottingham, explains why, “Three people die from Asthma each day and we wanted to collect some money for Asthma UK so that they can raise awareness of how everyday risks, like not paying attention to worsening symptoms, can lead to a fatal asthma attack. In the East Midlands, everyone knows someone who suffers and we want to help” Colleen, Lucy’s Granny adds “To date we have raised £900 and we are aiming to raise at least another £500. If people support us it will make the blisters worthwhile. We intend to write an entertaining blog along the route to keep those who have donated up to date on our progress” Of course, we may have to stop at a couple of hostelries along the way for refreshments, but we have a positive mental attitude and we will achieve our goal of 102 Miles and £1500 to help Asthma UK during their Annual Fundraising Week”. Amelie Marples, from Shoreham by Sea, said “Go Granny Gawthorpe, Go” Three Nottinghamshire Village Cricketers will lead a 102 mile walk starting on Saturday, along the Cotswolds Way in support of Asthma UK’s Annual Fundraising Week.
